Three Simple Steps to Quick Happiness

1) Find something irresistible to order online. There is something so thrilling about not being able to touch or smell something that you’re about to receive. Find anything that makes you happy, big or small and just go ahead, add it to your cart!

2) Wait for your items to arrive in your mailbox every day. By now, the thrill of your new item arriving in that mailbox of yours should be overwhelming. It’s ok to get sad every time you see the mailman leave without your perfect item in his hands.

3) It’s finally arrived! Tear into your package and behold your little measure of happiness for the day. Materialistic? Maybe. But maybe you could share your little gift with someone you love too.

Here are some of the things that I just ordered that made me really happy: Books and Super Mario Bros for the Wii! Such a great game, especially to play together with the people you love.

What are some of the little things that make you really happy?

  1. TEHRE ARE TOO MANY BIG WORDS IN THE TITLES OF YOUR BOOKS!!! THEY SUCK!

I told you to order Spot the Dog and Where's Waldo. Berenstein Bears for heavy reading. This is the last time I'll entrust you with a task. These books do not make me happy.

Also, order some noodles next time.

    Love,

    Your Sister

  4. Ah. How I wish I could order online. But alas. Delivery fees to South Africa are mega expensive, also there is a strong likelihood that my package would "never arrive" mysteriously, you know? And my beloved purchase would live forever in some post office official's home.

On a different but related note: OMG pathologies of power... Looks like it would be especially useful for my thesis...

    :D

  7. Oh goodness, I can't even tell you how much I LOVE receiving packages! I've got a bit of a reputation at work for being a serial online shopper - I get parcels pretty much every week. And the other day I ordered some amazing boots which should come next week - yay!

    Such great photos!

  11. I like online shopping, but not when I have to send it to my uni address (bloody unreliable postal system!) I love ordering books on Amazon and receiving them in the post then smelling the lovely new pages! Or maybe I'm just a little bit weird...!

  29. Just like you, I also though online shopping was therapeutic. And so i ordered 2 gorgeous pair of pumps and successfully completed the first two steps. Sadly, it almost been 6 months since i placed the order and am still to complete the third step. But, I have to admit I am still an optimist!

  30. Salkin & Co candles, everytime I light them they make the room smell glorious and burn beautifully. I also love my Brita water filter, I feel better about not wasting plastic and flipping through my magazine collection, because I'm a junkie. And of course my dog, Leo the Beagle :D

The little things in life that give me pleasure...hmm...night time talks with my sister, when the sun is out, and the feeling of falling into bed after a long day!

  37. Someone smiling at me, that thrills me. You know, I'm one of those folks who pay extra for fast shipping because I cannot anticipate the wait. Even next day urks me.. I need it now!

  38. Things that make me happy- seeing somebody's smiling face, traveling and eating chocolate cake.

This may be weird but I never really tried on-line shopping. I don't know, it's just that I want to touch and feel the real merchandise first before I let go of my precious moolah.;)

  40. Sounds like a really fantastic way to cheer yourself up! :-) I have to say that for me it would be chocolates, fashion books and waiting for the packages with new materials for my hats from Paris and London! :-)
Thank you for your very generous complement to the craftsmenship of Galliano hats. They are, truly, the most difficult hats I have worked on so far and I am happy that they came out to be beautiful hats :-)

  47. Ahh, there's nothing like online retail therapy! Or any retail therapy for that matter.... there's also a thrill of finding that perfect thing on a shelf and carrying to the cash desk in anticipation, then unpacking your shopping bags when you get home! Or spending a day in a book store inhaling the smell of hardbacks... But I do most of my book shopping online as well.

    Enjoy your new purchases!
