A very late boxing day post...

First of all, I would like to say Happy New Years to everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed New Years eve and had a relaxing New Years day.

My boxing day finds post is long overdue mainly because of my room redo. I am happy to say that it is almost done and I cannot wait to post before and after pictures very soon. Until then, here are some of the amazing Boxing Day deals I got in Toronto.

This Boxing Day was about stocking up on essentials; underwear, pyjamas, and warm pieces.

I bought three things from the Gap; this cream tank top for $12.99, this 100% silk blouse for $19.99 and another one of those merino wool cardigans, on sale for $25! I was really happy with these purchases.

Then there is The Bay. I have had a long love affair with The Bay; it is my favourite department store and I can usually find really nice pieces from there. I was in desperate need for some lingerie, and The Bay had an additional 25% off clearance items and pajamas were 60 percent off. I got these Esprit Luxury collection pajamas for $30 each, original price $80 each. I also got some pretty underwear from Blush, which were all on clearance.

I had to get some Ugg-style boots. I know this is a no-no for the fashion conscious, but they are seriously comfortable. I got these Firefly Betty boots from Sportcheck, and they are comfortable and warm; just what I want when I’m taking a quick walk to my coffee shop or grocery shopping.

Lastly, I got two pairs of jeans and two sweaters from Hollister. I don’t shop there regularly, as the nearest Hollister is an hour away from my house, but I had a gift card, so it was worth it. Their jeans were 50% off, so they were $35 each and these sweaters were more than 50% off, at $25 each from $78. I didn’t show the other pair of jeans since I’m wearing them right now!

I have to admit; this Boxing Day was kind of disappointing. I didn’t find anything that truly wowed me, just essentials that I thought I needed. I’m going to go to the malls in January now and see if I can find some crazy good sales for things that I might like to splurge on.

What are your favourite Boxing Day finds? I hope you all has luck finding what you needed / wanted this past Boxing Day!

  1. Great buys Marz... I love everything especially those pajamas. Sad but we don't have boxing day in Manila.

PS...What was I trying to hide? Hahaha! See, I was successful, you didn't notice anything.

  2. The presentations of your boxing day merchandise is spectacular for no other reason than the fact that you used MY camera which was in itself a great boxing day deal. The camera isn't silk (what's so special about that anyways? We all know polyester is where it's at - especially when I can say that my pantaloons were former pop bottles) but you're just jealous that you can't post it up as your boxing day splurge! So stick that in your pipe and smoke it Marz!

    Love,

    Your Sister

PS: I'm full of noodles :D

  8. Gorgeous photos. I love the mix of fabrics and patterns. Some great buys here too! Hollister stuff is so expensive in England, I've never bought anything but my bf's sister always stocks up when she's in the US. I got some great sale buys in Gap too! :)

  13. Fabulous finds! I love the blouses, knits and lingerie! I know spending money on basics sounds quite boring and my not give you the same rush as buying something more extravagant, but they will probably get more wear out of them than anything else.

Sales in Paris only started yesterday, but I spent way too much on a jacket and some shoes... sigh.

  14. Lovely finds! But the cream tank top and the silk blouse are especially my favourites; so feminine!

:) I'll have to stop procrastinating then, and show the world my Christmas goodies... lol! I didn't see anything that wowed me either this Boxing Day, so I decided to be a good girl and didn't buy one single thing.

  26. Love the gap silk top, merino cardigan and the Hollister sweaters! We don't have Boxing Day here in Spain but we're having the winter sales right now. I bought a purple wool coat from Zara and a plaid wool skirt from H&M while on vacation.haha!

I'm this close to buying those Ugg like boots because they're so comfy but then I'm petite and they're a bit flat and so at the last minute I chickened out.hehe!

    Great purchases, Marz!

PS: Looking forward to seeing your newly re-done room.;)

  31. Nice purchases! I didn't go shopping on Boxing Day as I hate the holiday bridge & tunnel crowds... but I did do some shopping online and, among other things, picked up a pair of jean leggings. Yikes, right? I know they're frowned upon, but I don't care! Now I only need a pair of UGGs to complete the look. :)
